Tributes

Hi everyone, I've set up a public tributes page, it would be nice if you'd like to add something.

Home at last

After sleeping peacefully for most of the last three days, Mum passed away at 8:15 this morning with Dad & Craig by her side.

Cherie, Darren & Shane arrived soon after, so we were able to share some special family time together.

We thank you for your thoughts & prayers. We will post information later with details about the service & celebration of her life.

Another day closer to a miracle

Hi everyone, This evening when we went out Mum was put onto the morphine pump. She had been experiencing quite a bit of pain in her legs over the past few days.

The pain started to drop off a bit so we are over another hurdle & hoping that this will keep the pain at bay.

This morning she got one of those flash beds (remote control raising & lowering etc.) & while I don't think she appreciates the techie coolness of having such a bed, we are hoping that it also helps keep her comfortable.

Update

Hi everyone, thanks for checking here for news. It is great to be able to let you know how things are going without all of the 980 people who have checked this page, ringing Dad!

We had a really good day today. It just so happened that all of my siblings & I were at Mum & Dad's to visit, so we all got to enjoy a bit of time with Mum. She is sleeping quite a bit and the pain is popping up again.

Just before I left this afternoon, Auntie Glen arrived from Australia.

Darren.

I'm putting this up again just because I want to

"Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The
Lord himself will fight for you. Stay calm." -- Exodus 14:13-14

Thursday update

This update brings no new news.

Mum's eye sight hasn't got any better in the past few days, she can't see very much at all and is becoming weaker.

However we really are at the same stage we always have been, knowing that she isn't going to get better by anything medical. She needs a miracle to be around for more years.

Visibility update

Hi everyone, yesterday when we visited Mum had some sight restored. She had got to the stage of being able to see shapes & apparently she could tell that I only had one head, but she is still quite fuzzy & we are all praying it will improve each day.

Some good news is that her pain continues to be mostly quite low.

Setback

Today we had a setback. Mum suffered something like a mini-stroke this morning. She quickly recovered everything except her eyesight, but it did knock her a bit and she remains very tired & weak. Mum can't really see much at all right now, unable to make out even shapes of people.

It's been great having cousin Sharon around, and good to have Craig, Edelweiss & Ethan back from the U.S for three weeks.

Thursday update

Mum & Dad had a good day today, the pain & nausea seem to be mostly under control, but Mum is now quite weak. We are hoping she will start eating again & regain some strength and that it's the first of many good days!
